The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the 2025‑26 Team Academic Excellence Award recipients, highlighting programs that sustain a collective GPA of at least 3.0.
The Alaska Nanooks men's basketball squad earned that distinction, posting a team GPA that met the threshold and drawing praise from the association.
Honors Court Recognition
In addition to the team award, seven Nanooks athletes were selected for the NABC Honors Court, a list that celebrates players who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The honorees include Davis Crilly, Jackson Krug, Jalai O'Keith, Jeremiah Hersrud, Luke Fotheringham, Tariq Weiser and Tyriq Luke.
The Honors Court includes juniors, seniors and graduate students, reflecting a commitment to both athletic and academic excellence.
Overall, more than 2,300 players across the nation earned Honors Court spots, while roughly 400 programs received the Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2025‑26 season.
Coach Davis Crilly praised the collective effort, noting that the recognition underscores the program's dedication to developing student‑athletes who excel in the classroom as well as on the court.
The achievement also places the Nanooks alongside other high‑performing programs, reinforcing the university's reputation for balancing competitive basketball with rigorous academic standards.
