A New Bracket Format Takes Shape
NASCAR is set to launch its 2026 In‑Season Challenge Bracket, a novel head‑to‑head competition that will begin on June 28 at Sonoma Raceway. The bracket, determined by current championship points, will feature five races that culminate in a $1 million prize at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Each of the 18 drivers who qualify will be placed into a seeded lineup, with the highest finisher in each pairing advancing to the next round.
The schedule includes a diverse slate of tracks: Sonoma, Chicagoland, EchoPark, North Wilkesboro and the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, providing a mix of road courses, ovals and short tracks.
