NASCAR has officially locked in a 16‑race calendar for the 2027 Cup Series, confirming dates that will take fans from the iconic Daytona 500 in February to the final showdown in October. The schedule was released today, but the full lineup is still pending final approval for two street‑circuit events.
Las Vegas Doubles Down
A highlight of the announcement is the addition of two races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, giving the Nevada venue a rare double‑header weekend that underscores its growing importance on the tour.
The traditional Daytona weekend remains intact, with the Clash at Daytona and the Duels at Daytona slated to precede the Daytona 500 on February 17 and 21 respectively, setting the stage for the season’s most prestigious race.
Other confirmed dates include a March 7 event at Circuit of the Americas, two weekends for Phoenix Raceway in March and October, and a March 21 showdown at Las Vegas, while Bristol, Talladega, Texas, Iowa and New Hampshire each receive a single date throughout the spring and summer.
Negotiations Still Ongoing
Despite the bulk of the schedule being set, the inclusion of a Chicago street race and a San Diego debut remains uncertain. Both events are held up by unresolved subsidy discussions, leaving their future in doubt and delaying the finalization of the complete lineup.
If the pending agreements are reached, the 2027 season will stretch from February through October, offering a mix of superspeedway thrills, road‑course challenges and historic short tracks that have defined NASCAR’s appeal for decades.
