Schedule Highlights
The 2027 NASCAR calendar was unveiled with a clear focus on reviving iconic venues while integrating fresh locations that promise excitement for fans and drivers alike. The Cup Series will once again feature the storied Daytona International Speedway, alongside a return to North Wilkesboro and a continued date at Dover, both of which have long been fan favorites.
Watkins Glen, the series' sole road course, shifts to May, preserving its unique position as the only road race in the Chase, while the historic Southern 500 at Darlington is slated to become the regular‑season finale, underscoring its enduring significance in the sport.
Additional highlights include a Fourth of July weekend event at Iowa Speedway, marking its debut in the schedule, and a planned race on a U.S. military installation slated for 2028, which will add a distinctive patriotic backdrop to the series. The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will also welcome back North Wilkesboro, a track not used since 1985, while Rockingham will lose its standalone date, reflecting a streamlined approach to the series.
The Craftsman Truck Series will debut a new points race at Bowman Gray Stadium, providing a fresh competitive format, and will see the return of Canadian Tire Motorsports Park after a hiatus caused by the pandemic. St. Pete will host a joint weekend with IndyCar, creating a crossover event that promises heightened visibility for both series.
Championship weekend will be consolidated at Homestead‑Miami Speedway, where all three national divisions will crown their champions over November 12‑14, offering fans a concentrated finale. Broadcast coverage expands as well, with the Cup Series moving to a multi‑network arrangement that includes FOX, Amazon’s Prime Video, TNT, and USA/NBC, while the O’Reilly Series will be carried by The CW and the entire Truck Series will remain on FOX.
