NASCAR has announced that its annual fall event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway will be known as the Kyle Busch Classic, a tribute to the late racing icon.
The inaugural race is scheduled for Friday, October 2, and will spotlight the track’s short‑track heritage while drawing top competitors from across the sport.
The Legend of Kyle Busch
Kyle Busch, who passed away on May 21, 2023, at the age of 41 from sepsis related to pneumonia, left an indelible mark on the sport. He captured two track championships at The Bullring before going on to win two NASCAR national series titles and amassing 234 career victories, the most in series history.
His wife, Samantha Busch, has spoken about the importance of The Bullring in Kyle’s early career, describing it as the foundation upon which his legendary status was built.
A Day of Remembrance
In August, NASCAR declared August 18 as "Kyle Busch Day," honoring his contributions with the No. 8 and No. 18 numbers that represent his Chevrolet and Toyota liveries.
The organization also plans to feature a special tribute during the Kyle Busch Classic, ensuring that new generations of fans understand his influence on and off the track.
The event aims to create a signature NASCAR race that fans can look forward to each year, blending celebration of the sport’s history with the excitement of future competition.
