Motorists traveling through Monroe County should brace for a series of traffic adjustments tied to the upcoming NASCAR race weekend at Pocono Raceway.
On Sunday, June 14, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will implement special patterns to move vehicles safely before and after the event, focusing on Route 115 and nearby roadways.
Route 115 Detour Details
Beginning around 11 a.m., the stretch of Route 115 between Interstate 80 and the raceway will be reshaped into two southbound lanes that operate as a one‑way corridor for race‑related traffic. This restriction stays in place until the flow of entering vehicles eases.
After the race, the same segment will be flipped to two northbound lanes, again limited to one‑way traffic, and will remain until approximately 25 laps remain and the raceway parking lots have cleared.
Parking and Road Closures
Stoney Hollow Road between Long Pond Road and the Interstate 80 overpass will be designated a no‑parking tow‑away zone, with violators subject to removal at the owner's expense.
The eastbound off‑ramp from Interstate 80 at the Blakeslee interchange (Exit 284) will be closed following the race, further shaping the local traffic landscape.
Drivers are urged to heed traffic signs, follow lane assignments, and consider alternate routes such as Interstate 80, Route 33, Route 209, or the Pennsylvania Turnpike's Northeast Extension if they are not attending the race.
Race officials remind fans that all raceway entrances will remain open and staff will guide attendees to the appropriate parking areas upon arrival.
