Weather forces schedule change
NASCAR announced that the scheduled start of Sunday’s Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway has been moved to 1 p.m. Eastern Time. The change comes as forecasters predict severe weather later in the day, prompting the series to protect the safety of drivers, crews and fans.
The race will be carried live on three platforms: Amazon Prime Video, the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM Radio. Each outlet will provide a simultaneous feed, ensuring that viewers across television, radio and streaming services can tune in at the same moment.
Two teams that have operated outside the traditional charter system are set to compete. Beard Motorsports will field the No. 62 Chevrolet for veteran driver Casey Mears, who is on the cusp of reaching 500 career starts, while Live Fast Motorsports will run the No. 78 Chevrolet with rookie Daniel Dye at the wheel.
Mears, a longtime Pocono competitor, has led laps on the 2.5‑mile triangle in the past, but analysts view his chances of a victory as slim. The field also includes former Gen 7 winners Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney and Chase Briscoe, all of whom are listed among the early favorites.
Fans can expect a tightly contested event, with the adjusted schedule giving teams a compressed window to prepare. The broadcast partners have pledged comprehensive coverage, including pre‑race analysis and post‑race reactions, to keep audiences engaged throughout the day.
