A rotating driver roster
Carson Hocevar, a full‑time competitor in NASCAR’s Cup Series for Spire Motorsports, has been a constant presence in the Truck Series this year, entering every event except one.
The series expanded its Cup‑Series driver eligibility from five to eight races this offseason, a rule that shapes Hocevar’s limited schedule.
His only missed race came at the season‑opening street‑course event in St. Petersburg, Florida, where the Cup field was in Austin, Texas, at Circuit of the Americas, forcing him to sit out.
Former IndyCar standout James Hinchcliffe filled the vacant seat in the No. 77 Chevrolet for that weekend, while Spire’s development driver Connor Zilisch is slated to take over the same truck at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The Charlotte race will be contested on a four‑turn, 1.5‑mile oval in Concord, North Carolina, a venue that also sees Shane van Gisbergen, a teammate of Zilisch at Trackhouse Racing, sharing driving duties in the No. 71 Chevrolet.
Kyle Busch, an eight‑time Truck Series winner at Charlotte and co‑leader of the series with two victories already this season, is set to pilot the No. 7 Chevrolet for a fifth appearance this year.
Hocevar is expected to resume his Truck Series role next weekend at Nashville Superspeedway, where he previously competed and looks to add another entry to his résumé.
