A Race Marked by Legacy
The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 is set to take place at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 22, marking the first scheduled Truck Series race at the track since the tragic loss of Kyle Busch. The date and format have been retained despite the series’ recent bereavement.
Busch, who secured two victories earlier this season including a win at Dover on May 15, had been the all‑time leader in Truck Series wins. His passing has left a void, but the series has chosen to move forward with the planned schedule.
Corey Day is slated to drive the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet for the upcoming event, adding a fresh face to the lineup.
Several Cup Series regulars are entered in the Charlotte race, among them Ross Chastain, Carson Hocevar, Connor Zilisch, Shane van Gisbergen and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., promising a competitive field.
The broadcast will be carried nationally on FS1, with additional streaming options through FUBO, NASCAR.com and SiriusXM, ensuring broad access for fans.
The event underscores NASCAR’s commitment to preserving its calendar while paying tribute to one of its most prolific drivers, blending remembrance with the excitement of on‑track competition.
