NASCAR’s 2026 Chase Rolls Out a ‘Swear Jar’ Fan Promotion

Fans can win the entire pot by guessing the total number of curse words used during the season, which begins with the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington.

The 2026 NASCAR Cup Series Chase will feature a novel fan engagement element that turns on‑track profanity into a prize‑winning game. Starting with the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on a Sunday night, the new ‘swear jar’ will add $5 to a communal pot for every expletive uttered by drivers over their radio during the race.

Fans are invited to predict the total number of curse words that will be spoken throughout the ten‑race postseason; the person whose guess is closest to the final tally will claim the entire pot, which grows with each salty outburst.

Drivers are no strangers to colorful language, often cursing in response to mechanical failures, pit‑road mishaps, or heated battles with rivals. Industry veteran Corey LaJoie has estimated that roughly 2,160 swear words will be heard over the course of the Chase, based on an average of six expletives per driver per race.

Ryan Blaney, known for his frequent radio‑side profanity, is expected to be one of the biggest contributors, while Denny Hamlin enters the Chase as the top seed, chasing his first Cup championship in his 21st full‑time season.

Other contenders such as Tyler Reddick, Ty Gibbs, Chase Briscoe and Christopher Bell, all seeking their first title, will also add their voices to the jar, making the competition for the pot as fierce as the on‑track battle for the championship.
