Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul has filed criminal charges against Chad Malawy, a 54‑year‑old baseball coach at Nashville Community High School, accusing him of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The indictment, filed in Washington County Circuit Court, includes one count of Class 1 felony criminal sexual assault and one count of Class 1 felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse, each carrying a potential prison term of up to 15 years. In addition, Malawy faces two Class A misdemeanor counts of solicitation to obstruct justice and two counts of attempted obstruction of justice.
