Sprigings spent seven years with the Colorado Avalanche, where he progressed from data scientist to associate director of analytics and worked directly with senior vice president of hockey operations Chris MacFarland.
During his tenure the Avalanche captured the Stanley Cup in 2022 and added a Presidents’ Trophy in the 2025‑26 season, achievements that highlighted his contribution to the club’s on‑ice success.
Prior to his professional career, Sprigings distinguished himself as a goaltender at Wesleyan University, playing between 2013 and 2017 and earning a reputation for sharp reflexes and strategic insight.
