Northern Illinois University announced today that Nathalie "Nat" Tulumaris has officially signed with the Huskie volleyball program, securing her place on the roster for the 2026 campaign. The announcement marks a significant addition to the team’s front line, bringing a blend of size, skill, and championship experience.
Tulumaris arrives after a standout high school career at Brentwood High School in Nashville, Tennessee, where she helped the program capture a state runner‑up finish in 2024. Her club tenure with Tennessee Performance Volleyball was equally impressive, highlighted by a national championship and coaching responsibilities for younger squads.
During the 2025 season, she served at Army West Point, appearing in ten matches and logging 23 sets. In that rookie campaign she recorded five aces and seven digs, showcasing her defensive versatility and ability to contribute on the offensive end.
The Huskies have been actively shaping their 2026 class, welcoming not only Tulumaris but also a cadre of teammates including Lilly Abney, Viktoria Djukic, Charlotte Gramzow, Aiden Lightburn, Charizma Lofton, and Katie Pahl. Together, they form a deep, competitive group that could reshape the program’s trajectory.
A Strategic Build‑Up for the Huskies
Coaching staff view the influx of talent as a deliberate strategy to close the gap with conference rivals. By integrating players with both collegiate and elite club backgrounds, the program aims to elevate practice intensity and translate that into match‑day success.
Tulumaris expressed excitement about joining NIU, citing the university’s academic reputation and the vibrant campus community as key factors. She joins a growing list of alumni who have leveraged the Huskie platform to launch professional and international careers.
