A Powerhouse Transfer Joins the Bulldogs
Naulivou Lauaki Jr., the 6‑foot‑5, 265‑pound designated hitter who starred for the Oregon Ducks, announced his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs baseball program for the 2027 season.
Lauaki arrives after a breakout redshirt freshman year in which he logged 43 hits, 37 RBIs and 14 home runs while batting .321, numbers that helped the Ducks advance to the NCAA Tournament super regionals.
Why Lauaki’s Arrival Matters
Georgia’s roster has been reshaped by the transfer portal, with several key players departing this offseason. The addition of Lauaki is viewed as a direct response, providing immediate power and depth to a lineup that lost some of its previous firepower.
The Bulldogs have also secured commitments from other high‑profile transfers, including Hunter Carns from Florida State and former West Coast Conference player of the year Mikey Bell, bolstering the team’s overall talent pool.
Coaches say Lauaki’s size and swing could shift the Bulldogs’ offensive dynamics, making them a stronger contender in the upcoming season and potentially pushing them deeper into the NCAA Tournament.
