North Dakota State University announced the addition of two new transfers, long snapper CJ Anderson from North Greenville University and wide receiver Tochi Okoro from Garden City Community College, bringing the total number of transfers to twelve for the 2026 football roster.
A Boost for Special Teams
Anderson arrives with one year of eligibility remaining after a senior season at North Greenville that earned him all‑conference honors in 2025. He expressed excitement about testing himself at the Division I level and contributing to the Bison’s special teams.
Okoro, who posted eight receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown in eight games during the 2025 season at Garden City, was recruited by Bison coach Steve Crutchley, who sees the player as a potential weapon to stretch opposing defenses.
Strategic Additions
Both athletes were brought in to fill gaps left by departures earlier in the offseason, with Anderson slated to replace departing long snapper Chase Balzer. Their arrivals reflect a broader strategy of using transfer talent to sustain competitiveness in the FCS.
The moves have been welcomed by fans and analysts who view the additions as a sign of the program’s aggressive recruiting approach, setting the stage for a promising campaign ahead.
