NDSU Baseball Players Earn Academic All‑Summit League Honors

Three Bison maintain perfect 4.0 GPAs while delivering standout performances on the field

The North Dakota State baseball program celebrated a rare blend of scholarship and sport as three of its student‑athletes earned Academic All‑Summit League honors this season.

Academic All‑Summit League Selections

Colten Becker, a Business Administration major, posted a flawless 4.0 GPA and paced the Bison with 28 runs and seven home runs, underscoring his impact at the plate.

Brayden Marks, pursuing a degree in University Studies, also carried a 4.0 GPA, made nine starts on the mound and recorded 18 strikeouts, demonstrating precision in both academics and pitching.

Parker Puetz, another Business Administration student and a member of the All‑Summit League First Team, logged 45 strikeouts before a season‑ending injury, his statistical contribution remaining a highlight of the roster.

Eligibility for the Academic All‑League requires a minimum 3.30 GPA, completion of one full academic year and participation in at least half of the team’s contests; pitchers must appear in 20 percent of their team’s games to qualify.

Nominations are submitted by sports information directors from each league member, and voting involves both those directors and faculty athletic representatives. The final teams consist of the ten student‑athletes receiving the most votes, with ties standing as co‑honorees.

This recognition reflects the Bison’s commitment to cultivating student‑athletes who excel academically while making meaningful contributions on the diamond.
