A promising arm in Lincoln
Jaxson Carper, a 6‑foot‑3, 205‑pound quarterback from California, arrived in Lincoln on June 13 for an official visit that quickly turned into a recruiting priority for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
During the tour, Carper explored the locker room, met position coaches and observed the program’s recent momentum, noting that the staff’s vision for a balanced quarterback room resonated with his own development goals.
The visit coincided with offers from UCLA, Arizona, Texas Tech, SMU and Nebraska itself, placing the Huskers among a short list of suitors for the 19th‑ranked prospect in the 2028 class.
While Nebraska’s 2028 recruiting class remains without any verbal commitments, the coaching staff has earmarked quarterback development as a cornerstone of future roster building, aiming to attract multiple signal‑callers in the coming cycles.
Carper, who currently sits at the 21st spot among all players nationwide, said he intends to return to Lincoln later this fall, a move that could further solidify the relationship between the recruit and the program.
