Will Kaskie, a senior at Kearney High School, announced his commitment to the University of Nebraska, joining a storied program that blends competitive baseball with academic opportunity. The announcement came as the Nebraska Cornhuskers look to bolster their roster ahead of the upcoming season, and Kaskie’s decision reflects both athletic promise and personal conviction.
During his junior year, Kaskie posted a .337 batting average, reaching base at a .419 clip and slugging .854 OPS, while also delivering a 2.33 ERA on the mound with 41 strikeouts in 27 innings. He contributed 12 extra‑base hits, including two home runs in a decisive game against Hastings during the Legion A7 district tournament, and stole nine bases, pacing the team in that category.
