Nebraska Athletics announced this week that its 2026 alternate football uniform will be themed “Our Red Burns Brighter,” a nod to the electric atmosphere that fills Memorial Stadium after dark.
Nighttime Inspiration
The jersey’s black foundation is highlighted with metallic red detailing that mimics fireworks, fire‑tower flames and the synchronized light shows often seen during night games, while a perforated block ‘N’ adorns the back panel and a “A Winning Tradition” lining appears inside the collar, celebrating the Huskers’ 81 percent win rate in evening contests.
A matching black helmet carries metallic red script and the same “A Winning Tradition” emblem, and a red stripe runs down the side, drawing inspiration from Nebraska’s agricultural heritage.
The uniform will make its on‑field debut during the Huskers’ Blackout game against Washington on Halloween at Memorial Stadium, marking the start of a season‑long celebration of the team’s night‑time prowess.
