Netflix eyes 'Icebreaker' series
Netflix has announced that it is developing a television series based on the bestselling novel 'Icebreaker' by Hannah Grace, a romance that has spent 70 consecutive weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and sold more than five million copies worldwide.
The story follows Anastasia Allen, an aspiring Olympic figure skater, and Nate Hawkins, a hockey player, whose relationship unfolds amid the pressures of college life at the fictional University of California, Maple Hills.
Amanda Lasher and Jade Bartlett are attached to write and executive produce the adaptation, which will explore a hot and tension‑filled romance between the two protagonists.
Jinny Howe, Netflix’s head of scripted series for the United States and Canada, described the book as the 'perfect next chapter' for the streaming platform, hinting at the network’s interest in expanding its original content portfolio.
