Nevada's football program has secured a commitment from Victor Valley College wide receiver Don Henry, a junior‑college standout who has signed with the Wolf Pack. Henry, a 6‑foot‑3 target from Hesperia, California, chose Nevada over several other programs, including Wyoming, Colorado State, Delaware and UTEP.
During his two seasons at Victor Valley College, Henry compiled 88 receptions for 1,254 yards and 11 touchdowns, numbers that placed him among the most productive pass catchers in the California junior‑college ranks. His performance on the field was complemented by strong academic standing, making him an attractive recruit for the university.
Henry took an official recruiting visit to the University of Nevada in late April, where he met with coaches and toured the campus. The visit appeared to seal his decision, as he formally committed to the Wolf Pack shortly thereafter.
A Boost for the Wolf Pack's Offense
The addition of Henry marks the fourth Division I transfer the Wolf Pack has added to its receiving corps this offseason. Head coach Jeff Traylor has emphasized the need to increase depth and experience at the position, especially after a season that saw the team's passing game generate more interceptions than passing touchdowns.
Over the past four seasons, Nevada's offense has struggled to find a reliable go‑to receiver, often settling for short, high‑risk throws that resulted in turnovers. The coaching staff believes Henry's size, speed and proven production can provide a more consistent downfield threat and help balance the attack.
With Henry now on board, the Wolf Pack hopes to translate his junior‑college success into immediate contributions on the field.
