Belding, who was rated No. 66 among catchers and No. 500 overall in the national 2026 rankings, brings a blend of defensive skill and offensive potential. He prepped at Del Oro High School in Loomis, California, where he capped his junior year with a .344 batting average, eight home runs and 30 RBIs in 34 games, guiding the Golden Eagles to their first section championship since 1991.

Coach Jordan Getzelman has emphasized a comprehensive recruiting strategy, bringing in additional pieces such as two‑way star Keenan Dolan, the 2026 Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year, and right‑hander Wade Huntsman.
