New Assistant Coaches Join UMN Duluth Women’s Basketball Staff

Bonnie Jensen and Brynn Olson bring experience and alumni pride to the Bulldogs' roster

The University of Minnesota Duluth women's basketball program has welcomed two new assistant coaches, Bonnie Jensen and Brynn Olson, ahead of the upcoming season. Both bring a blend of playing experience, coaching acumen, and a deep connection to the Bulldogs community.

Bonnie Jensen arrives after a stint as a graduate assistant at the University of Dubuque, where she helped develop American Rivers Conference post players and led the Chapman Basketball Academy in the AAU circuit from March 2022 through August 2023. Her playing career at Ripon College was marked by four-time NCAA Midwest Conference honors, and she holds a Master of Management in Sports Management from Dubuque alongside a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Brynn Olson returns to Duluth after two seasons at St. Cloud State University, where she contributed to a 2023 NCAA Division II National Runner‑Up finish and helped the team capture both the NSIC Tournament and regular‑season titles. Currently pursuing an MBA with a finance concentration at St. Cloud State, Olson previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in December 2025.

A Dual Perspective

Together, Jensen and Olson represent a unique combination of coaching expertise and former player insight. Their shared excitement about joining the Bulldogs' staff underscores a commitment to elevating recruitment, player development, and overall program competitiveness.

Athletic leaders at the university expressed confidence that the new assistants will strengthen the team's depth and inject fresh energy into practice sessions. Their diverse educational backgrounds and professional networks are expected to broaden the program's reach across the Midwest.
