Lavon Coleman steps in as head coach at Sunnyside High School, succeeding Marshall Lobbestael, who left after a 20‑20 record and a productive passing offense. Coleman’s résumé includes a Pac‑12 championship at Washington University in 2017 and a 7‑2 season at Overlake before he departed due to a lengthy commute. He plans to implement a ground‑oriented Pistol offense that emphasizes physical running and balanced play.
Ellensburg’s Veer‑Option Revival
Ryker Ely takes over at Ellensburg High School, inheriting much of the previous staff to preserve continuity while introducing a veer‑option scheme.
