A revamped offensive lineup
The Aggies have completed a sweeping recruitment drive that adds 25 newcomers to the offensive side of the ball, a move that coaches say will reshape the unit’s identity heading into the 2026 season. The influx includes 15 transfers from Division I programs, eight high school signees and two junior college transfers, each bringing a distinct skill set to the roster.
Among the most anticipated arrivals are quarterbacks Trey Hedden and James Jones, both of whom arrive with impressive collegiate résumés. Hedden, formerly of Furman, earned Southern Conference All‑Freshman honors in 2024 and started every game in 2025, while Jones, a product of Delaware State, was named first‑team All‑MEAC and BOXTOROW’s HBCU Impact Player of the Year last season.
The coaching staff has also secured a cadre of playmakers at skill positions. Wide receivers, running backs, tight ends and offensive linemen have all been bolstered by recent signees such as Xavier Rucker, AJ Carey and Duke Frye, each of whom brings a mix of high‑school accolades and college production that should add depth and versatility to the offense.
Beyond the headline names, the roster features standout athletes from diverse backgrounds. Trey Arnold, a Mission Bay High School record‑setter, joins the group after a prolific high school career, while Kalani McLeod, a California Community College Athletic Association standout, brings a strong passing background. Additional contributors include Myles Libman, Luke Lopez and Mark Chapman, each of whom has logged meaningful snaps at their previous stops.
The blend of experience and raw talent is expected to give the Aggies a more dynamic and competitive offense. By integrating transfers from institutions such as the University of Texas at El Paso, Grambling State University and others, the team hopes to elevate its performance on the field and contend more aggressively within its conference.
