Freshman Zoey Gist, making her second start, responded with three goals in 78 minutes, but the effort was not enough to overcome the deficit.
Head coach Rob Baarts reflected on the contrasting performances, noting that the team’s training work does not automatically translate into match outcomes. “We work on things that look good in training, and then we get into games and it’s just not happening,” he said, emphasizing the need for the squad to respond more effectively when the whistle blows.
