A fresh wave of talent
The women's soccer team is set to welcome nine new players for the upcoming fall campaign, a move designed to lift a squad that finished last season with a 5‑9‑4 record. The additions include two immediate transfers, Ariana Gronauer and Lenea Guerrero, who join a group that also features six first‑year freshmen and several other portal arrivals.
Ariana Gronauer arrives from Las Vegas, Nevada, as a graduate midfielder with one year of NCAA eligibility remaining. She spent her senior season at Temple University, where she started 12 games and recorded seven shots on goal. Prior to Temple, Gronauer played three seasons at the University of the Pacific, contributing three assists and two goals.
Lenea Guerrero, a senior midfielder from California, brings two years of eligibility and a strong collegiate background from Youngstown State University. In her sophomore year she started six games, logged four shots and an assist, and earned team‑captain honors. She was also a Hall of Fame inductee at Bishop Amat High School, finishing her prep career with 41 goals and 50 assists.
The rest of the incoming class showcases a blend of high‑school accolades and regional championships. Sophia Michel, a forward from Bowie, Maryland, was a three‑year co‑captain and three‑time WCAC All‑Conference selection. Ella Provost‑Heron from Miramar, Florida, captured Offensive Player of the Year and Team MVP honors. McKenna Wickman of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, helped lead her side to three district and regional titles. Defender Madison Dockery from Ashburn, Virginia, earned two Mid‑Atlantic Conference championships, while Kolby Moss from Atlanta, Georgia, was named team MVP and Georgia’s Upper School Female Athlete of the Year. Finally, Halle Ostboe of Manhattan Beach, California, contributed to a CIF‑Southern Section Division I quarterfinal run and a Bay League championship.
