New York Sirens Re-sign Key Veterans Ahead of 2026‑27 Season

Lauren Bernard, Clair DeGeorge and Denisa Křížová commit to new contracts as the PWHL expands its roster

The Professional Women’s Hockey League revealed that the New York Sirens have secured the services of three veteran athletes, re‑signing defender Lauren Bernard to a two‑year deal and attaching forwards Clair DeGeorge and Denisa Křížová to one‑year contracts.

A New Chapter for the Sirens

Bernard, a Madison native who contributed two assists in 30 games during her debut full season, brings a steady defensive presence and a championship pedigree. She was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2024 PWHL Draft by Toronto and has already captured two Buckeyes National Championships alongside DeGeorge in 2022 and again in 2024.

DeGeorge, who began the previous season with the Toronto Sceptres before joining the Sirens mid‑campaign, adds offensive depth after a career that includes 75 regular‑season appearances and a Walter Cup from the league’s inaugural year. The Anchorage‑born forward also helped the Sirens clinch a National Championship in 2022.

Křížová, the Czech forward who arrived at the trade deadline in March, has logged 84 career regular‑season games and stands among the league’s most decorated Europeans, having earned bronze at the IIHF Women’s World Championships in both 2022 and 2023. Her international experience adds a global flair to the Sirens’ lineup.

With these agreements, the Sirens now boast 16 players under contract, underscoring the franchise’s commitment to stability as the PWHL expands its footprint through Phase 5 of the Expansion Player Distribution Process ahead of the 2026‑27 season.
