Construction of NEXUS Stadium is advancing in Edison, New Jersey, with officials targeting a spring 2027 completion that will mark the opening of a $70 million sports and entertainment district designed to serve year‑round.
The venue will accommodate up to 6,500 spectators and will be equipped with eight private suites, diverse food and beverage outlets, two dedicated party decks, and an open‑air concourse featuring tabletop seating, creating a comfortable experience for players and fans alike.
Rutgers Athletics has signed a letter of intent to make the stadium the home of the Scarlet Knights baseball program, while Middlesex College will also use the facility for its own schedule, a partnership highlighted by Middlesex County Director of Communications Min Kim as part of a broader vision for a premier, multi‑use venue.
Beyond the stadium, the development includes NEXUS Fields, a 180‑acre park that boasts ten artificial playing fields, baseball and softball diamonds, tennis courts and a dedicated cricket pitch, expanding recreational options for the community.
The project emerged from a Request for Qualifications issued by Middlesex County to attract sports franchises, and the stadium is being billed as the largest baseball‑specific venue built in the state since the early 2000s, promising to host a wide array of events throughout the year.
