NHL, USA Hockey, and USHL Expand Partnership to Boost Tier I Junior Hockey

Collaboration focuses on elite player development and pathways to NCAA and NHL

The National Hockey League, USA Hockey and the United States Hockey League have unveiled a deeper partnership aimed at elevating Tier I junior hockey across the United States.

The collaboration will concentrate on delivering top‑tier training environments and competitive platforms that give elite prospects the best chance to transition to NCAA Division I programs and, ultimately, to the NHL.

A Shared Commitment to Excellence

Under the umbrella of the organizations’ Declaration of Excellence, announced in April 2025, the partners pledged to raise player development standards and to expand support systems for young athletes.

The USHL will continue to welcome international players, recognizing that their contributions enrich the league’s competitive environment and broaden developmental pathways.

Together, the three bodies will work to refine coaching methodologies, improve scouting networks and create clearer advancement routes for aspiring professionals.
