A Strategic Addition for the Bluejays
Creighton Women's Basketball has secured the commitment of Nia Holloway, a graduate student who will bolster the roster with both skill and experience. Her arrival marks a continuation of the program's strategy to blend seasoned talent with academic excellence.
Holloway arrives after a collegiate career that spanned three seasons at the University of Minnesota, where she appeared in 97 games and logged a career‑high 474 minutes during the 2023‑24 campaign. She shot 46.9% from the field overall and improved to 55.1% in the 2024‑25 season, while also recording 74 career steals and 23 blocks. Her defensive contributions and shooting accuracy align with the Bluejays' tactical goals.
Beyond the hardwood, Holloway is pursuing a master's degree in negotiations and conflict resolution at Creighton. The program's emphasis on academic rigor complements her undergraduate foundation in political science and urban studies, underscoring a commitment to leadership off the court.
The new recruit also brings a personal connection to the team. Graduate assistant Kiani Lockett, who served as Holloway's club teammate, will work closely with her, fostering chemistry that could translate into on‑court synergy. Holloway's family roots in Minnesota and her brotherly ties to fellow Eden Prairie alumnus Ethan Wragge add a narrative thread that links the program to a broader basketball community.
Holloway's high school pedigree includes two‑time Minnesota All‑State honors and a standout performance at Eden Prairie High School, where she averaged 16.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. Her academic achievements, recognized as Academic All‑Big Ten in 2024‑25, reflect a balance of athletics and scholarship that Creighton values.
