Born in New York and raised in New Jersey, Ammirati’s early love for the game was sparked when his father presented him with a catcher’s mitt on the day he was born, a gesture that set the stage for a lifelong commitment to baseball.
His collegiate career began at Seton Hall before he transferred to a junior college in Texas, ultimately finishing his playing days at Mississippi State, where he contributed to a College World Series runner‑up team in 2013.
