Northern Illinois University’s women’s basketball program is gearing up for a busy summer, blending competition with community outreach.
On June 22, the Huskies will host a charity golf outing at the Kishwaukee Country Club, with registration opening at 8:30 a.m. and a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
Participants can sign up individually for $150 or as a foursome for $550, while sponsorship tiers begin at $75 for a student‑athlete, $150 for a hole sponsor and $500 for a pin‑flag sponsor. All proceeds will directly fund the program’s operations.
Summer Camps for Young Athletes
The university will run three basketball camps this summer, targeting different age groups and skill levels.
The NIU WBB Kids Camp runs from June 29 through July 2, welcoming boys and girls entering grades 1‑8. The curriculum emphasizes fundamentals and is tailored for beginners to intermediate players, with a registration fee of $175.
Two Elite Camps are scheduled for June 26 and August 1, each geared toward girls entering grades 9‑12. The June 26 session is already sold out, but registration remains open for the August 1 camp, also priced at $75.
These initiatives reflect the program’s commitment to developing talent on the court while generating support off the court, ensuring the Huskies have the resources to compete at a high level.
