Promotion Highlights NKU’s Coaching Excellence

Northern Kentucky University announced this week that assistant coaches Simon McCormack and David Harris have been elevated to the role of Associate Head Coach, a move that underscores the program’s growing prestige and its commitment to continuity.

Both men joined the Norse before the 2019‑20 campaign alongside head coach Darrin Horn, quickly becoming pivotal figures in recruiting, player development and strategic game planning. Their combined expertise has reshaped the roster and elevated on‑court performance.

Under their guidance the team has compiled a 134‑90 overall record and a 85‑51 mark in Horizon League competition, capturing twelve tournament victories and securing two league championships. The program boasts the best win percentages in each category among current members since joining the league in 2015.

A New Chapter for the Norse

The promotions signal a strategic investment in continuity, rewarding the duo for their consistent impact and positioning the program for sustained competitiveness as it eyes further milestones in the coming seasons.
