Beechwood High School announced that Noel Rash will return to the program as its new head football coach, taking over from Jay Volker, who has accepted a teaching post in Ohio.
Rash’s Proven Track Record
Rash previously compiled a career record of 200 wins, highlighted by eight state championships, and he first took the helm of the Beechwood program in 2006 after joining the staff in 2000. His early years also included a stint as head baseball coach from 1998 to 2001, underscoring a deep, multi‑sport involvement at the school.
Volker guided the Tigers to a 37‑5 record and captured a state title in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of consistency and success that has shaped the program’s recent identity.
A Coordinated Transition
The school board noted that Volker will work closely with Rash during the hand‑off, ensuring that the program remains competitive and that preparations for the 2026 season stay on schedule.
Community members, players and alumni have voiced optimism that the continuity of leadership will preserve the Tigers’ tradition while injecting fresh energy into the team’s approach.
