UCLA announced that Noelle Quinn will join the women's basketball coaching staff for the 2026‑27 season, marking a homecoming for the alumna who once wore the blue and gold on the court.
A Familiar Face Returns to Westwood
Quinn played guard for UCLA from 2003 to 2007, finishing among the program's top ten in points, rebounds and assists. Her collegiate success laid the foundation for a 12‑year professional career in the WNBA.
After being selected fourth overall in the 2007 draft, she contributed to five different franchises before capturing a championship with the Seattle Storm in 2018. The following year she transitioned to coaching, rising to associate head coach in 2020 and ultimately earning the Storm's head coaching role in 2021.
During her tenure as head coach, Quinn guided the Storm to a 97‑89 record and secured the 2021 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup title, showcasing her ability to lead teams to victory at the highest level.
Cori Close, UCLA's head coach, praised Quinn's leadership and championship experience, emphasizing that her background in both collegiate and professional basketball will be invaluable as the program seeks to develop its next generation of champions.
The addition of Quinn is expected to enrich UCLA's coaching staff with a blend of tactical insight, player development expertise and a deep understanding of the program's culture, all of which could help the Bruins compete more aggressively in the coming seasons.
