The 2026 Minnesota High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Series culminated in a tightly contested championship game that saw the North All-Stars fall just short of the title, dropping a 6-4 decision to the Metro South All-Stars after a dramatic seventh‑inning rally.
Key Performances and Tournament Flow
Brody Adelman of Alexandria and Landon Gess-Norling anchored the North’s campaign, with Adelman earning MVP honors after delivering hits in every contest and driving in two runs in the final. Gess-Norling contributed five scoreless innings across two appearances, including a stretch of five hitless frames, and added two more scoreless innings in the title game.
The North opened the tournament with victories over Metro North and Metro West, the first a 6-3 win highlighted by a three-run fourth inning, and the second a 2-1 pitcher’s duel that stretched into the bottom of the seventh. Both games showcased a blend of solid hitting and stingy pitching.
In the championship, Adelman led off the lineup and went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs, while Riley Asmus and Masyn Patrick each drove in a run to keep the North ahead before Metro South answered with three runs in the final frame. The South’s Will Maschka homered and recorded three RBIs to seal the win.
Beyond the headline acts, Conner Erickson, Trevor Rounds, Brady Thompson, Carson Heinsch, Esau Nelson, Brayden Skindelien and others contributed key hits, solid defense and timely pitching, underscoring the depth of talent on both sides.
The series unfolded across several Minnesota communities, from Alexandria to Chaska, bringing together high school standouts, coaches and fans in a celebration of the sport that reflects the reach of the Minnesota High School Baseball Coaches Association.
