North Bears Triumph in Annual All-Star Football Classic
Ten standout seniors from West Virginia high schools gathered for the North-South All-Star Football Classic, a showcase game that pits the state's top talent against one another in a celebration of gridiron excellence.
The North Bears emerged victorious, downing the South Cardinals by a decisive 34-7 margin. The win was built on a balanced attack and a defense that limited the Cardinals to a single touchdown.
Among the celebrated performers, Nate Suttle of Greenbrier East High School captured the Charlie Maynard Memorial Heart and Hustle award for his relentless effort on the South side, while Izzac Redden earned the defensive lineman award for his dominant presence in the trenches.
The game also served as a coming-out party for several rising stars. AJ Thomas and Ja'Marques Manns represented Woodrow Wilson High School, while Kaden Stone and Nate Suttle wore the colors of Greenbrier East. Peyton Mounts from PikeView, Kaiden Helmer of Shady Spring, Landon Crane of Princeton, Connor Acord from Liberty, and Kaiden Sims of Meadow Bridge each contributed to the North's offensive firepower.
Coaches and teammates alike praised the camaraderie and competitive spirit displayed on the field, noting that the event provides a vital platform for these young athletes to gain exposure ahead of college recruitment.
The North Bears' 34-7 victory not only underscores the depth of talent in West Virginia high school football but also sets a promising tone for the upcoming seasons, as many of these players are expected to attract scholarship offers and continue their careers at the collegiate level.
