A Fresh Start in North Salem
The North Salem Tigers field hockey program is gearing up for the 2026 season after a challenging 2025 campaign that ended with a Class C quarterfinal loss to Bronxville. Coach Jen Frohman, now in her third year at the helm, believes the experience gained will be a cornerstone for future success.
Returning seniors such as Kylie Robinson, Robin Pockriss and Leah Malvino bring a wealth of on‑field knowledge, while nine newcomers — including Keely Aparicio, Anya Ghosh, Olivia Margolin, Molly Collura, Noelle Dupree, Kathryn Dupree, Ella Santis, Maddy Bridges and Maya Melendez — are expected to inject fresh energy into the squad.
Learning from a Tough Schedule
The Tigers faced a demanding schedule last year, battling powerhouses like Bronxville, Pleasantville, Nyack and Mahopac. Those encounters taught the team how to manage injuries, adapt to high‑pressure moments and maintain composure against larger opponents.
Coach Frohman emphasizes that the lessons from those games will shape the 2026 approach, particularly in how the team handles a packed calendar and the physical toll of the sport.
Home Opener and Early Goals
The season will open at home on September 2 against Rye Neck at 5 p.m., a matchup that will set the tone for the weeks ahead. The coaching staff hopes a strong start will build momentum as the team navigates a tough early stretch.
Despite the injury concerns that have plagued the roster, the Tigers are confident that depth and cohesion will allow them to peak later in the season. The ultimate aim is to become a legitimate contender in Class C and push deeper into the postseason than a year ago.
