The North Union baseball team saw its season conclude on Tuesday night with a 4-2 loss to West Hancock in the opening round of the ISHAA 1A, Substate 2 bracket.
The Warriors managed to plate runs only in the third and sixth innings, but the early lead established by West Hancock proved insurmountable.
Casey Rezac and Castor Kollasch took the mound for North Union, each logging three innings and combining for five hits allowed and four strikeouts.
Offensively, Max Merrill sparked the Warriors with two doubles, while Cole Nicoson and Wiley Stevens each recorded a single hit.
West Hancock’s starter, Cameron Purvis, turned in a six‑inning outing that yielded just four hits, with both of his runs coming unearned.

Even in defeat, the Warriors have a foundation to build upon, with young arms and versatile hitters poised to compete in the coming seasons.
