Northeastern University announced on August 22 that its women’s hockey program will open the 2026‑27 season on October 2 without a permanent home rink, marking the first full campaign the team will navigate under that arrangement.
The Huskies will host four of their home games at Walter Brown Arena, while three additional matchups against Boston University will also be staged in the same facility, effectively consolidating several contests under one roof.
Co‑captains Kristina Allard and Rylie Jones, who led the squad at the close of the previous season, return to anchor the lineup, joined by assistant captains Lisa Jönsson and Ellie Mabardy, who were named to the role for the upcoming year.
The roster also features standout players such as junior forward Éloïse Caron and sophomore Stryker Zablocki, both of whom earned spots on Canada’s National Women’s Development Team, a testament to their rising profiles.
Four Northeastern skaters — Lily Shannon, Jaden Bogden, Jules Constantinople and Tory Mariano — were drafted into the Professional Women’s Hockey League, underscoring the program’s growing influence.
Beanpot Dominance and Frozen Four Momentum
The team has secured three straight Beanpot championships from 2023 through 2025, a streak that fuels expectations for another deep run, especially after a recent Frozen Four appearance.
Newcomer Ivana Wey, a Swiss freshman, is slated to join the roster immediately and is expected to see action from the outset, adding depth to a forward group that includes Zablocki, who set a record‑breaking first season with a host of Hockey East honors.
Beyond the main arena, the schedule lists games in nearby communities such as North Andover, Waltham and Chestnut Hill, giving fans across the region opportunities to attend.
