A Strategic Overhaul
The Northern Arizona men's basketball program is set for a major overhaul as it welcomes eight new transfers for the 2026‑27 season, swelling the roster of newcomers to eleven.
Returning starters Ryan Abelman, Chris Komin and Brennan Peterson give the team a solid core, while the coaching staff has targeted size and athleticism to address last season's shortcomings.
The incoming talent spans Division I, Division II and junior‑college backgrounds, each selected to plug gaps in the frontcourt and backcourt alike.
Among the newcomers is Dylan Anderson, a 7‑foot forward from Chandler, Arizona, who previously starred at Murray State and Boise State.
Cade Bennett, a 6‑foot guard from Moraga, California, arrives after a stint at Saint Mary's College, while Mason Dorsey, a 6‑5 guard from Los Angeles, brings experience from College of the Sequoias and Bethune‑Cookman.
Tamiel Green, a 7‑foot forward/center from Conyers, Georgia, comes from Indian River State College, and Nana Keutcha, a 6‑10 center from Yaounde, Cameroon, joins after a year at Colby Community College.
Lance Piper, a 6‑6 guard from Holtsville, New York, adds depth after playing at Delaware and the University of South Carolina, while Zach Tanner, a 6‑10 forward from Salt Lake City, Utah, returns from Utah State Eastern. Finally, Luke Wieskamp, a 6‑7 forward from Phoenix, Arizona, rounds out the class after a period at Menlo College.
With a blend of size, skill and experience, the team hopes to contend for the Big Sky Championship, leveraging the chemistry between the returning starters and the fresh infusion of talent.
