Northern Arizona University’s women’s basketball program is set for a significant overhaul as it welcomes eight new transfers for the upcoming 2026‑27 season. The additions bring the total number of newcomers to ten, joining four returning players who will form the core of next year’s squad.
Head coach Laura Dinkins emphasized that the team’s strategy hinges on adding versatility, length and scoring punch. By targeting experienced players, the coaching staff hopes to elevate the program’s competitiveness and chase a Big Sky championship that has eluded them in recent years.
Among the returning starters are Emma Dasovich, Layla Davis and Madison Watts, who will anchor the lineup alongside the fresh faces. The coaching staff also anticipates contributions from true freshmen guards Shayla Cordis and Naomi Johnson, who will add depth at the backcourt.
