That season, the Wildcats finished undefeated, outscoring opponents 801-203 and capturing the Class 3A state championship, their 13th title in program history.
Coached by Dale Mueller, the squad posted an average margin of victory of 39.4 points per game, a testament to both offensive firepower and defensive discipline. Their closest contest came in the season opener, a 51-41 win over Male that set the tone for a year that would become legend among local fans.
Star Players Who Went On to Greater Heights
Quarterback Jared Lorenzen emerged as the centerpiece of that team, earning Mr. Football honors and later becoming the University of Kentucky's all‑time passing leader with 10,354 yards.
