The recent postseason awards have put the baseball programs at Glen Lake and Lake Leelanau St. Mary in the spotlight, as each team amassed a series of regional and district citations that underscore their growing competitiveness.
Regional Recognition
Spencer McNitt, an outfielder for Glen Lake, was singled out for his performance and named to the all‑region team, a testament to his consistent hitting and defensive skill throughout the season.
Josh Bunek, who plays infield for St. Mary, also received all‑region honors, highlighting his versatility and impact at the plate and in the field.
Glen Lake’s achievement was further bolstered by the placement of six of its players on the all‑district squad, while St. Mary contributed four members to that same list, reflecting depth across both rosters.
Despite the impressive haul of regional and district recognitions, neither school managed to secure a spot on the all‑state roster this year, a reminder that the state’s elite level remains a challenging benchmark.
