Schedule unveiled
The Northern Michigan Wildcats have officially released their 2026‑27 men’s basketball schedule, a slate that promises both excitement and adversity for the program coming off its most successful season in school history. Athletic director Keil Ganz highlighted the ambitious non‑conference road trip that will open the year, signaling the team’s intent to test itself against a variety of opponents early on.
The Wildcats will begin the campaign with a three‑game stretch in Wisconsin Dells, where they will meet Central Oklahoma, Harding and Lincoln Memorial as part of the Midwest Tip‑Off Challenge. Over the next two weekends the squad returns to the same venue to face Missouri‑St. Louis, Winona State, St. Cloud State and Minnesota State Mankato, giving them a chance to build momentum before heading to Duluth for a road test on November 28.
Conference play kicks off in December with trips to face Roosevelt and Parkside, while the holiday break brings a homecoming on December 31 against Davenport in Grand Rapids. The first home game of the season is slated for January 7 against rival Michigan Tech, after which the Wildcats will alternate between home and away contests throughout January and February, culminating in a showdown against Parkside and Roosevelt to close the regular season.
The schedule also includes a final pair of non‑conference games in Quincy, Illinois, against Quincy and Southwest Baptist, before the GLIAC Tournament begins on March 3. Semifinals are set for March 6 and the championship game will be played on March 7, offering the Wildcats a chance to cap the year with a potential title run.
