Northern Nevada Junior All-Star Baseball Game Set for June 7

Top underclassmen, award-winning players and coaches converge at Bishop Manogue

A junior All-Star baseball game is set to light up the diamond on June 7 at Bishop Manogue High School, bringing together the region’s most promising underclassmen from the 5A North league.

Coaches and Teams Prepare for the Showcase

Reno High head coach Pete Savage will steer the White squad, while Bishop Manogue’s Charles Oppio, the 5A North coach of the year, will lead the Grey team. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, and all proceeds will be funneled directly to the Northern Nevada Baseball Coaches Association to fund future youth programs.

The game will showcase a slate of standout athletes, including Reno’s Jackson Mathews, the league’s top relief pitcher, and Reed’s Chase Spencer, who topped the circuit with 63 strikeouts and earned pitcher of the year honors.

Awards and Accolades Highlight the Field

Bishop Manogue’s two-way star Keenan Dolan was named 5A North player of the year after leading the league in home runs, slugging percentage and RBIs, while his 0.78 ERA ranked third among pitchers. Offensive player of the year Nate Lemieux and defensive standout Tyson McNeil of Spanish Springs round out the award-winning cohort. The Cougars captured the regional title by beating the Miners, and both teams will head to the state tournament, where Manogue fell to Bishop Gorman in the 5A championship game last Saturday.
