All‑State Recognition Highlights Local Talent
The Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association recently unveiled its All‑State team, and eight players from the Northwest Herald coverage area earned spots on the prestigious list.
Nate Larson of Huntley, a junior pitcher, secured a first‑team berth in Class 4A after posting a 5‑0 record, a 2.18 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 41⅔ innings.
Liam Schultz from Burlington Central, also a junior, earned first‑team honors in Class 3A, slashing .312/.465/.615 with eight homers and 29 RBIs.
Carson Trivellini of Crystal Lake South, a junior shortstop, was named first‑team after collecting 50 hits, 13 doubles and finishing with a .390 batting average.
Kaden Wasniewski of McHenry, a junior third baseman/pitcher, earned first‑team accolades in Class 3A, posting a .394/.551/.758 line with 10 doubles, eight homers and 46 RBIs while also going 3‑1 with a 3.34 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 35⅔ innings.
Prairie Ridge senior pitcher Colt Zaleski claimed first‑team status in Class 3A, finishing the year 10‑0 with a 1.50 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 56 innings.
Honorable‑mention selections included Nick Stowasser and Beckett Breseman of Prairie Ridge, as well as Owen Satterlee, each recognized for their contributions in Class 3A.
Coaches say the breadth of talent reflects the growing strength of high school baseball in the region, and many expect these players to lead their teams deep into the playoffs.
