Northwestern State’s 2026‑27 Men’s Basketball Class
Northwestern State University has revealed its 2026‑27 men’s basketball newcomer class, a 11‑player group that mixes five four‑year transfers, three junior‑college transfers and three high‑school signees. The roster was disclosed in a statement that highlighted the team’s collective drive to compete on every possession.
Coach Rick Cabrera described the class as tough, connected and selfless, emphasizing that each player is committed to daily improvement and to contributing to the program’s success.
The transfers include Nathan Ojukwu from Dakota State, Arne Osojnik from Northern Arizona, Kai Simpson from Thomas More University, Dionjahe Thomas from Jackson State and Isaiah Vick from Wingate, each bringing distinct experience and skill sets.
Joining them are junior‑college transfers Doyle Brown of Richard Bland College, Cam Kelly from College of the Sequoias and Jayden Nesbitt of Walters State Community College, who add depth and a proven track record at the collegiate level.
Freshmen Antoine Almuttar, Armon Almuttar and Boogii Remo round out the incoming group, each arriving with unique backgrounds and personal ambitions.
Antoine Almuttar, a standout at Parish Episcopal School, earned MVP and Defensive Player of the Year honors in his junior and senior seasons, underscoring his defensive impact and leadership.
Arne Osojnik, a Slovenian guard, represented his nation at the 2023 FIBA U19 World Cup and graduated with a 3.71 GPA, reflecting a balance of athletic and academic achievement.
Dionjahe Thomas, a three‑star recruit from Buford High School in Georgia, was named District 8‑4A MVP and first‑team all‑state, highlighting his high school dominance.
Isaiah Vick, who led Wingate in scoring and rebounding as a freshman and earned South Atlantic Conference All‑Freshman honors, arrives with a reputation for versatility and work ethic.
