A Global Talent Joins the Saints
Siena College announced the addition of Norwegian midfielder Ingvar Kolbjornsen to its men's soccer roster, a move that underscores the program’s expanding global reach and its ambition to compete at the highest level of collegiate soccer.
During his freshman year at East Tennessee State, Kolbjornsen earned All‑SoCon Freshman Team honors in 2024, contributing a goal and an assist in a 3‑1 win over Gardner‑Webb and finishing the season with one assist in 15 appearances.
Before arriving in the United States, he developed at Sotra VGS and spent four years with Sotra Sportsklubb, appearing in 49 matches for the Norwegian club and gaining international exposure with Sogndal’s U17 side in the Scandinavian Championship.
The Saints’ recent achievements — a first‑ever conference championship and a historic NCAA Tournament berth — provide a compelling backdrop for Kolbjornsen’s arrival, as the coaching staff looks to blend his attacking flair with a winning culture.
Head Coach Graciano Brito praised the newcomer, describing him as an exceptionally talented and dynamic attacking player who can elevate the team’s offensive options and add depth to the midfield.
